The Plainfield Park District has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the National Fitness Campaign (NFC).
The grant, administered by the Illinois Park & Recreation Association and Illinois Park & Recreation Foundation, will fund the construction of a new outdoor fitness court at Northwest Community Park.
With current access to indoor fitness and recreation options limited, Park District officials want to bring more outdoor wellness infrastructure and programming options to visitors to the Plainfield Park District in the coming years.
“This grant will help the Park District in its mission to promote a lifestyle of fitness for its residents,” said Executive Director Carlo Capalbo.
Founded in 1979, National Fitness Campaign encourages healthy lifestyles in communities throughout the United States.
