Petition packets for the positions of Commissioner of the Plainfield Park District are available for pick up starting Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Digital petition packets can be requested beginning August 20, 2024, by contacting Heather Caldwell, Secretary, at 779-252-2793 or caldwell@plfdparks.org.
Open Positions
Two (2) Commissioner Positions – 6-year terms
Petitions must be filed with the Recreation Administration Center, 23729 W. Ottawa Street, Plainfield, IL beginning at 9 am on November 12, 2024, and no later than 5 pm on November 18, 2024. Regular office hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am until 4 pm. Public notice of the Plainfield Park District meeting dates and location for the period January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024
The regular monthly meetings of the Plainfield Park District are held on the second Wednesday of the month. All meetings are held at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center, 24550 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield unless otherwise noted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. All meetings begin at 6 p.m. and are open to the public. The public is encouraged to attend. Des Plaines Street Plainfield, IL. 60544 has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center (PARC); 24550 W. Renwick Road Plainfield, IL 60544. Please note that this change complies with the Illinois Open Meetings Act (OMA) requirements. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

The Plainfield Park District is governed by a seven-member group of Commissioners. Commissioners are elected for six-year terms, and the terms are staggered. Elections are conducted in the spring of odd numbered years. Current board members and their term expiration dates are:
