Four girls in their dance recital costumes

The Plainfield Park District offers dance programming exclusively at its Streams Recreation Center, 24319 Cedar Creek Lane in Plainfield.

Plainfield Park District Dance programs enrich students’ lives in many ways with classes aimed at instilling confidence, improved flexibility and balance, development of rhythm, and enhanced memorization.

Dance also provides a vital social outlet for kids and is a way to express themselves in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Plainfield Park District Dance offers classes for just about every style and discipline including:

  • ballet
  • pointe
  • poms
  • jazz
  • lyrical
  • hip hop

Dance season is broken down into two sessions. The first session begins in the fall and ends in December and the second begins in January and ends in the spring with a recital. Each session requires a separate registration.

FrontLine Competitive Dance/Pom Team competes in the Illinois Park District Drill Conference Team Division. This is a great opportunity for your child to become a part of a team that will build self-esteem, encourage confidence while providing members with a unique opportunity to study, explore and perform dance, and pom at a higher level of expectation.

Competitions are held from January to April in the Illinois Park District Drill Conference. Competition Teams participate in recital and IPDDC Competitions. Price for the 23-24 season, an 8-month commitment, is $525 and includes costume and competition fees. Team jackets are required and can be purchased at Eich’s sports for an additional fee. The 23-24 season runs from October 2023 through May 2024. Members are required to be enrolled for the entire season. Payments are due when enrolling.

All dance competitions will take place on Saturdays or Sundays. A practice schedule will be handed out at the first class. Competition schedules will be handed out as soon as dates and times are confirmed. Children are only allowed 3 absences for team and premier classes before being barred from competition performances. Sports and school activities are counted as absences. Please see the instructor for details.

Tryouts are required to participate on the FrontLine Competition Team. Please see registration details below.
