The Plainfield Park District recently announced the hiring of Kevin Miller as the new Planning Manager.
Kevin comes to Plainfield after graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign this past May with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture (BLA). He also holds an associate degree in general studies from Parkland College.
While at the University of Illinois, Kevin was honored with several accolades including:
- F.R. Vogelgesang Landscape Architecture Scholarship – Awarded to a BLA candidate in the Regional Design Studio who demonstrates excellence in leadership within the collaborative studio process.
- Florence Bell Robinson Scholarship – Presented to the graduating BLA candidate considered by faculty most likely to become a teacher.
- Gary Kesler Prize – Awarded annually to a student in the Site Engineering course who exhibits excellence in the mastery of technical principles in landscape architecture.
Kevin is passionate about wildlife as well as ecological-minded design. He is committed to expanding public access to beautiful outdoor spaces. He currently resides in Minooka with his girlfriend, Morgan.
