Join the Plainfield Park District for an evening outdoors under the stars this fall at Mather Woods, 25032 W. Renwick Rd.
Star Gazing Fun begins September 21 with retired professor of astronomy Jim Hopkins who brings his telescope and knowledge of the cosmos to share with students.
Class includes a search for constellations, galaxies, stars, planets, comets, asteroids and even an up close and personal look at the earth’s own moon.
Additional stargazing dates include Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14.
The class will be held outdoors at night, so young astronomers are encouraged to dress for weather conditions.
For ages 3 & up
$5 per family
Program will be canceled if inclement weather exists and participants will be notified via email.
