Back to School Pony Rides

Ages 3 & up
Kick off the school year with a pony ride! Rides will last for 10 minutes and helmets are provided. Don’t forget to bring you camera to snap some great pictures! Please be patient as it takes time to get participants on and off as well as to adjust the equipment. SPACE IS LIMITED! PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED! CLOSED TOE SHOES ARE MANDATORY

Party @ PARC

ALL AGES 
The Plainfield Park District is welcoming everyone to close out the summer with a Party @ PARC on August 14 from 1-4p.

This free event is open to the public and will include inflatables, touch a fire truck from Plainfield Fire Protection District, games, and a kid’s craft. No registration is required to attend.

Star Gazing

Ages 3 & up
Get a glimpse of the cosmos from a professional telescope at Mather Woods. Event includes instruction by a professional astronomer who will demonstrate how to find constellations, galaxies, stars, planets and our own Moon. In the event of overcast skies, an astronomy themed presentation will take place indoors. Please dress appropriately for weather. Instructor: Jim Hopkins, Retired Associate Professor of Astronomy. Cardboard Boat Regatta

Ages 10 & up
Is your boat the best, then put it to the test. Build a boat out of only cardboard and duct tape, your boat should be capable of holding 1-2 people. Boats will be launched and paddled across the swimming pool. We will provide the cardboard and 2 rolls of duct tape per team.
