Summer Basketball Camp

Ages 6-14
Come spend time with us this summer learning some new skills or improving your existing ones.

In this Monday-Thursday camp players will work on becoming a well-rounded player working on skills like passing, dribbling and shooting using individual work and mini games.

Athletes can sign up for weeks individually or can sign up for both weeks. You do not need to have attended week 1, to attend week 2.

Super Sports

Ages 4-6
This fun-filled class teaches your child the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship while sparking an interest in a variety of sports. Stay active and work on balance, motor skills and hand-eye coordination while learning the rules of basketball, soccer, t-ball, and more. Play all the sports instead of just picking one! DS

Parent/Tot Sports

Ages 3-4
Adults and their athletes have fun together while learning a variety of sports. Develop hand-eye coordination and simple motor skills, such as catching, throwing, batting, shooting, and passing. Play soccer, basketball, t-ball and more. Equipment provided.  DS

Soccer Class

Ages 3-8
This class will introduce your child to the game of soccer and teach them the basic rules. Whether they are beginners or needing to learn skills to get to the next level, this class will teach the basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and spreading the field. Games will be played to work on teamwork and sportsmanship. Bring a water bottle. DS

Skateboarding Lessons

Ages 8-13
Beginners:
If you have no experience with the skate park and want to learn the basics this class is for you. Focus will be on the following areas: stance, pushing techniques, turning, stopping, skating terminology, board basics, beginning tricks, and safety. All skaters are required to wear a helmet, pads and provide their own skateboard to participate. DS
Advanced: This class is designed for participants who have the basics down and are comfortable with skating in the skate park. This class will be an introduction to ramps, rails, and dropping-in. It will also focus on ollies, manuals, and safety. All skaters are required to wear a helmet and provide their own skateboard to participate. Pads are strongly encouraged. This class is for participants who have completed Beginners II or have instructor recommendation. DS

Flag Football Class

Ages 5-12
Proper techniques on passing, receiving, blocking, and kicking will be covered. Breakdown of offensive and defensive strategies will also be covered. Teamwork and positive play are highly stressed, but our main objective is to have fun. DS

Youth Golf Lessons

Ages 7-17 
In Cooperation with the Lockport Township Park District, the Plainfield Park District is able to offer our residents golf lessons at Prairie Bluff Golf Course. These lessons are open to every level of golfer from beginner to advanced, junior to senior golfer. Times are subject to change if classes do not meet minimum enrollment. Participants will need to pay a $10 range fee to the instructor at the first class. Lessons will be taught by the Prairie Bluff PGA Professional Staff.  DS

Volleyball Skills Camp

Ages 8-15
Skills & drills is designed to introduce players to the foundations of volleyball. With its unique combination of drills, competition and instruction, this program focuses on breaking volleyball down into different skill stations. This class is designed to help players learn and develop a basic understanding of volleyball. The class will include instruction in the basic skills of serving, passing, setting, attacking and blocking. Ignite Cheerleading

Ages 4-14

Our cheer classes are a great way to introduce your athlete to the sport of cheerleading. Athletes will learn level-appropriate skills including cheers, dance, jumps, and motions 8-week summer sessions and will end with an in-house virtual competition between all of our locations. 

VIRTUAL Competition: The Ignite In-House Recreational Competition is OPTIONAL. If your athlete chooses to compete, there is a $35 competition fee and a $65 uniform fee. Practice will be outside (weather permitting); T-shirt, hairbow and poms required to participate in virtual competition – NO CLASS 7/5/21

New Wave Lacrosse

Ages 5-14
New Wave LAX – 1 Star:

The ONE Star Camps are perfect for beginners who are looking to learn this exciting sport! This sticks-only camp is a crash course in the fundamentals. The professional coaches at New Wave Lacrosse will teach athletes the skills necessary to advance to more competitive play. Skills taught include dodging, stickwork, creating offense, shooting and defense. Just bring a water bottle and a good attitude. We provide the rest! Prerequisite: None

New Wave LAX – 2 Star:
The TWO Star Camps are the next step in our camp offerings. Using full equipment, players will review fundamental skills and will be exposed to more in-depth game concepts. Skills learned will prepare players for a team-based league. The TWO Star camps are perfect for players who have just finished their first spring lacrosse season OR have participated in the One Star Camps. Coaches will be teaching skills through fast paced drills and small-sided scrimmages. Full equipment is required and rental equipment is available through New Wave Lacrosse.Boys Prerequisite: ONE Star Camp or previous season of Lacrosse. Additional Cost for Rental Equipment.

Junior Tennis Classes

The junior program includes different ability classes, starting with Red Ball 1 and advancing to our Jr. De-velopment groups.  The program aims to provide a structured and fun framework for learning with the goal of fostering a lasting enjoyment of the game of tennis and willingness and desire to improve.  USTA 10 and UnderTennis format will be used at certain levels. Jr. Tennis Development 2

(Ages 11-13)
Players will develop complex coordination, body awareness and control, reaction time, understanding of the game situation (offense, defense and neutral) in different phases of a point and high percentage shot selection.  Singles and doubles matches play for the last ½ hour. DS

Youth Athletics Leagues

T-Ball League

Ages 3 – 6
The Coed T-Ball League has been established for the purpose of introducing both boys and girls to organized T-Ball. It is the intention to teach players the rules of the game, develop skills, teach teamwork and good sportsmanship, and provide an opportunity for fun. The first two weeks will be practices and the remainder of the season will be games. Everyone receives a hat and shirt. Participants must bring their own glove and helmet.

You you have a one-hour slot each day, so you will not need to attend the entire time listed. Times will determined based on the number of athletes/teams in the league and will be sent out closer to the start of the season.

Pickleball - Beginner

Ages 18 +
What is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.A? It is Pickleball – a paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Pickleball can be played on a tennis court and a lowered net. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. Participants will be sorted by skill level. Each class will be a combination of instruction by our staff followed by some game play. Participants are required to bring their own paddle.

Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland’s premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion, US National Coach and President of the US National Karate Federation.
Please note that the Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes may train together.– Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required.  DS
