Plainfield Park District Mask Requirement Changes Start June 12

The Plainfield Park District is committed to continuing to ensure a safe environment for all employees and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The District is updating its protocol regarding face masks and social distancing. These required protocols are effective on June 12, 2021 and are subject to change as the state and CDC continue to issue additional guidance, including expected updates from the state for guidance on summer camps, youth sports, and the workplace.

Face coverings will no longer be required for patrons 12 years and older who are fully vaccinated.

By entering a Park District facility, patrons will be verifying truthfully that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

At the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center (PARC), 24550 W. Renwick Rd., face coverings will still be required in common areas including hallways, restrooms, and locker rooms for the continued safety of children under 12 years old who are not eligible to receive a vaccination.

Face coverings will not be required by fully vaccinated patrons in the Prairie Fit fitness center, or on the second-floor track or functional fitness area. Children under 12 years old will not be permitted on the second floor at PARC.

At the Streams, 24319 Cedar Lake Ln., and Normantown Equestrian Center, 12151 S. Normantown Rd., face coverings will also still be required in common areas when programming is taking place due to the high number of children under 12 who use those facilities.

Instructors working with children over the age of 2 and under 12 will continue to wear masks at all facilities.

Face coverings will also still be required in the locker rooms at the Ottawa Street Pool, 23820 W. Ottawa St.
