Either way you choose you will reach a dedicated, local audience. In print, our seasonal mini guide gets delivered to over 43,000 Plainfield-area homes 3 times per year.

In addition, over 5,000 subscribers receive our weekly newsletter, Scout’s Weekly Guide, in their email inbox. Another 5,000+ residents visit our website, plfdparks.org, every month.

In person, an average of just over 10,000 residents participate in Park District programs each year, over 8,000 pay to use our recreation center, PARC, with almost 20,000 visits to the fitness center, Prairie Fit, in 2019. Another 1,100 ran or walked the elevated track at PARC in 2019 too.

Our local business partners in the community help to offset the cost of programming and special events making them accessible to all of our residents. It is because of the support of the community that we are able to provide many great free or low-cost events throughout the year.

  • Print & Online Advertising

    Advertising is available in the Plainfield Park District seasonal activity guide. Advertising rates range from $175 to $2,350, depending on ad size and length of commitment. Please contact Brock Stein at stein@plfdparks.org for more information.

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the full activity guide has moved to an online distribution model with a smaller page count print magazine being distributed three times per year to area homes. Circulation for this smaller guide is 43,500 households via driveway delivery by a contracted service with a full, 3 season delivery reach of 130,500 homes.

    Due to these changes, print ad space is limited to Front Inside Cover, Back Inside Cover, and Back Cover.

    Print ads will automatically be included in the online activity guide and internal ad space is still available for purchase in the online guide.

  • Grinchmas on the Green

    In just a few years, Grinchmas on the Green has become one of the most popular family-friendly events in the Plainfield area which officially kicks off the Holiday season. 

    Plainfield Park District staff transform Village Green Park into Whoville with over 700 people visiting each year to enjoy the official tree lighting ceremony, view the decorated holiday trees, sip hot cocoa, enjoy cookies, and get an early visit from Santa and the Grinch.

  • Patriotic Picnic & Fireworks

    Every July 3, the Plainfield Park District hosts the Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks event in the parking lot at Plainfield Central High  School.
    The event includes inflatables, games and activities, touch-a-truck, food vendors, and concludes with a fireworks show at dusk.An estimated 7,500-10,000 people attend each summer.

    The Plainfield Park District organizes fun family events year-round for residents.

    The Family Fun Event Sponsorship package gives businesses an opportunity to reach residents at a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year.

    Dads and daughters enjoy activities, dancing, snacks and drinks. This event is indoors and draws up to 300 people each year.

    Easter Egg Hunt – March/April

    Children hunt for eggs in Clow Stephens Park. This event is outdoors and draws approximately 300 children.

    Breakfast with the Bunny  – March/April

    Families enjoy lunch, an egg hunt, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. This event draws approximately 100 children.

    Mother’s Day Breakfast – May

    Children enjoy tea and snacks with mom, as well as games and activities. This event draws approximately 100 children.

    Kids Garage Sale – June

    Kids sell gently used toys, clothes, games, etc. This event is outdoors.

    Party @ PARC – August

    Families enjoy inflatables, games, activities, the splash pad, food and fun at Village Green Park. This event is outdoors and draws around 150 people.

    Enchanted Ball – September

    A royal ball complete with magical activities, dancing and a visit from a princess. This event is indoors and draws between 100 children, not including parents.

    Frankenstein’s Kiddie Carnival – October

    A Halloween-themed party complete with a costume contest, games and activities and tons of spooky fun. This event is indoors and draws approximately 150 children, not including parents.

    Breakfast with Santa – December

    Families enjoy breakfast treats, Christmas-themed activities and a special visit from Santa. This event draws approximately 100 children.

    Noon Year’s Celebration – December

    Kids ring in the New Year with a daytime celebration. This event draws approximately 100 children.

    Cardboard Boat Regatta – August

    Family event that challenges participants to build a boat using just carboard and duct tape and then paddle it across the length of the Ottawa Street Pool and back!

    Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest – October

    An event for dog lovers to show off their fur babies in their finest Halloween costumes.

    Drive-In Movies-June through Oct.

    Drive in movies at Bott Park are a fun throwback to the days before Netflix and a great way to spend a summer night under the stars watching a new or classic movie with family and friends.
