All Plainfield Park District facilities, playgrounds, skate parks, dog parks and athletic courts are closed until further notice.

Plainfield Park District Playgrounds, Athletic Courts Closed Until Further Notice

In an effort to help reduce the transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Plainfield Park District is closing all playgrounds and athletic courts effective immediately, March 19, 2020, until further notice. Patrons witnessed using any Plainfield Park District playgrounds and athletic courts will be required to stop usage immediately and asked to leave the play areas.

We believe that trails and open green spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. In all instances, we recommend people follow stated guidelines regarding the use of these spaces and always actively adhere to a safe social distancing measure of at least 6ft.

Let us all do our part to use them in a way that respects each other and public health guidance. We are encouraging residents to follow Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines which recommend that parents refrain from organizing play dates, group meet ups, or other social gatherings for their children while school is on break. More information can be found on their website,

Further updates on Park District cancellations, closures, and program changes will also be posted on our social media channels.

Please be safe, be smart, and stay healthy.
