Beginner Group Lessons

Ages 8-18
Group lessons are a perfect introduction to horseback riding where participants learn how to prepare a horse for riding and begin to learn the gaits of walk and trot. Riders can choose to ride English or Western style. Instructors assign a horse/pony to students and learning is accomplished through demonstrations as well as hands-on experiences. The first session is non-riding and will teach students how to lead, groom and tack a horse. Students will be notified via email of current class protocols before the start of each session. These classes may be repeated until the basic skills are mastered. There is a $15 fee for make-up lessons.

Beginner 2 Group Lessons

For students who have successfully completed beginner group lessons or taken equivalent classes, Beginner 2 is the next step of your riding journey! Participants must be proficient at the following tasks before signing up for this course: put a halter on, lead a horse to the cross-ties, groom a horse, know what tack is needed for riding, and be able to correctly tack a horse with some assistance. Beginner classes may be repeated until the required skills for level 2 are mastered. Students will be notified via email of current class protocols before the program start date. There is a $15 fee for make-up lessons.
