The Plainfield Park District is hosting an Open House to present the Springs at 127th Park Development Project and gather resident feedback 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., September 21 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center, 24550 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield.
The Plainfield Park District is seeking an Open Space Land and Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant for the Springs at 127th Park Site. This site is just north of 127th Street, east of Route 59, and just north and east of the Wheatland Township Park site.
This site has been inaccessible until now with the recent Landsdowne development began allowing for access through that new subdivision. The proposed development will feature a dog park, trails, fitness stations, a shelter/seating area and a pollinator garden, as well as new landscape. This new park will also connect to the existing Wheatland Township Park site, creating a nine-acre park campus with a variety of recreational amenities.
A concept plan will be presented at the open house. Contact Director of Planning Bob Collins at collins@plfdparks.org for more information.
