Plainfield Park District Human Resource Manager Linda Michels recently attained her Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certified Professional accreditation.
The globally-acknowledged certification demonstrates mastery of the competencies and knowledge most important to organizations as defined by the SHRM Body of Competency & Knowledge. It recognizes Linda as an expert and leader in the HR field.
“Congratulations to Linda,” said Deputy Director Maureen Nugent. “She has been preparing since November for this certification test.”
In preparation for the 180-question test, Linda took a 12-week class in the fall through SHRM and Northern Illinois University.
“It was so exciting to pass,” Linda said. “I’m eager to take what I’ve learned and use to help the District.”
Linda, a Plainfield resident, started at the Plainfield Park District in April of 2021. She has worked in human resources since 2014, and is a graduate of National Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral sciences.
