Volunteers from Kids Around the World dismantled and collected the playground equipment from Commons Park in September.
The non-profit organization harvests reusable playground equipment, refurbishes it, and then re-installs it in developing countries all over the world.
In past years, playground equipment donated by the Plainfield Park District has ended up in such places as Iraq, Jamaica, Uruguay, Haiti, and Ethiopia.
The new playground equipment at Commons Park is expected to be installed later this fall.
